Much has been said about SA’s meeting with Trump in 2025. What’s not getting attention – how just three phrases quietly reset the tone of the engagement.
Did you spot them?
✅Johan Rupert saying that SA has ‘illegal aliens streaming over the border’. Trump’s political star rose on this issue. So he pays attention.
✅Rupert speaking about the Western Cape’s gang problem: Trump’s team is very focused (often controversially) on deporting gang members.
✅When Zingiswa Losi said talked about “willing buyer, willing seller”. Trump sells – that’s his thing. This phrase spoke directly to his soul.
Having these phrases at the ready helped Losi and Rupert immensely in what was a chaotic convo.
